| We live in such a beautiful area! This is Cub Creek down by Preston, ID. No matter the trees or turbulent waters, we can always see the light, if we look! |
I have decided to try another blog. We had a lot of fun with the blog on our mission and have sort of missed doing it each week. A couple of friends have said that they miss it also, so I thought it would be worth trying. We have friends and family that lives all over the United States and friends all over the world. This should be a good way to share our life's treasures with all of you. We love you all!
This past weekend was awesome! We are finally settling down to a routine after returning from our mission thanks to wonderful family that have helped! It has been somewhat of a struggle missing all our friends from our mission. Two weekends ago we went on a wonderful camp out with family and found some of our returned missionary friends. If you missed the picture, I will include it here.
 |
| Lonnie McOmber, Aaron Fife, Mark Richens, Keenan Foster. It is hard to remember their first names. They were all "Elder" on our mission. It was wonderful visiting for them and they seemed to appreciate our foil dinners. I guess home cooking is a "treasure" for them. |
This past Thursday, we were invited to go to visit our friends, the Rothschild's. They served in our mission as well. They had tickets to go to hear the Utah Valley Millennial Choir and Orchestra perform "To Be American". It was awesome--I cry over patriotic music, I am very proud to be an American and to have had Lonnie and I both serve in the military(as well as some uncles and our son, Chad). It was narrated by Glenn Beck(recorded) and one of the numbers was Rhapsody in Blue-my favorite. We had a grand time and they have a beautiful home!

The theater in Salt Lake City was beautiful and you can see the Temple in the background. It was a beautiful night! What a treasure! |
We spent a very relaxing night in their home and were up early to meet some friends for breakfast. This was another "special treasure".
 |
| The Butlers, The Rothchilds, The Buberts and us. All friends from our mission. We had a grand time catching up. Mari and Ben Bubert were graduating that day so they had a busy day ahead of them. |
We caught up with my brother Bill Bailey, who lives in Nephi, but was up in SLC with his daughter and granddaughter at Trader Joe's. We had a nice short visit with them.

We found out where another friend, Wade Tolman worked on our way home in Layton, Utah and he took us to lunch.
 |
| Wade, Kathy, Lonnie |
 |
| Lonnie and Wade-two crazy characters! |
We did some window shopping at Hill AFB and then Wade took us to Logan to his family's home. It is absolutely beautiful! It is what I think Heaven will be like!
 |
| Wade and Moses, he is rented out for Nativities at Christmas. |
 |
| A Zonkey--Donkey/zebra mix. He said they got rid of the zebra because it was getting mean. Wade also raises pigs and must have had 15-20 pregnant pigs on his place. |
We rode 4 wheelers all over their ranch. They home and countryside are beautiful! My alarm went off on my phone reminding me our Grandson, Bailey, had a basketball tournament in Preston in 30 minutes and we were 30 minutes away from Preston, ID. So off we went and got there just in time to see him play. Liz was going to stay in a tent, but got a deal on a "Lodge" that was not being used for the night. She invited us to stay with her. It was great!
Another treasure-the ride out the canyon was so picturesque! We were late to Rigby's next basketball game, but the scenery around Preston took our breath away. So different from the crowded Long Beach Area of our mission. We soaked up all the beautifulness! On our way home we had "milk shakes" that you ate with a spoon from Big J's in Preston. I had a raspberry/oreo on the recommendation of Miranda--it was good, but I could not finish it all, Lonnie could help me out!
We enjoyed the ride to Lava Hot Springs.
On our way down to Utah we stopped in Pocatello and visited Josh and his girls.

Each day is a treasure! What we do with each minute of each day is what makes our memories our treasures!
